Dear Members

The countdown to ski season is officially on! Snowatch is predicting some light snow showers and snowmaking over the next couple of weeks, hopefully putting some cover on the slopes for the opening of the season on Saturday, 8 June.  Let’s all keep our fingers and toes crossed.

A few notes and reminders from the Committee before the winter season gets underway:

  • Bookings: The Lodge is close to fully booked from early July to late August, but there are still plenty of rooms available pre and post that period. If you need any assistance with bookings, please contact the GAO (Mick) at admin@gunumalodge.com.au.
  • Upgrades: The sauna is now up and running and ready for winter use.  The thermostat needs to remain at the current temperature, so please do not touch the dial.  Make sure you let your guests know this if they plan to use the sauna.
  • Linen: A reminder that we have new single beds throughout the Lodge. If you’re planning to push two beds together, you will need a KING sized fitted sheet or larger.  The toddler mattresses (for children under 5) have been stored in the playroom cupboard. If you require one for your child, please ask your Winter House Manager and please remember to bring a mattress protector.
  • Internet: The Lodge has a new internet provider, which should provide faster and more reliable internet. If you require access to the internet while staying at the Lodge this season, the password can be found on the whiteboard.
  • Winter House Managers: The WHM roster for this year is as follows:

  • Leather lounges: Our well-loved leather lounges upstairs and downstairs in the playroom are, sadly, reaching the end of their useful life. The Committee has placed an order for 13 new leather lounges which will be delivered to the Lodge in Spring. If you have any interest in taking any of the existing lounges, please email the Logistics Manager, Nicole Wade at logistics@gunumalodge.com.au to discuss transportation options. All lounges will be given away for free, except for the two newer lounges in the playroom which can be purchased for $200 per piece.
  • Work party: Lastly, a huge thank you to all of the members who attended the last work party to get the Lodge ready for the ski season. As you can see from the photo below, the woodpile is well stocked.

We wish all members and their guests a wonderful stay at the Lodge this year.

May the snow conditions be in your favour!

The Committee
