Hello all,
The Committee welcomes Nicole Wade to the position of Logistics Manager. Thankyou Nicole for taking up this essential role!
Unfortunately as the months roll on and we get ever closer to the ski season, the position of Maintenance Manager remains vacant. This is going to result in reduced maintenance being conducted, and Gunuma will grow tired very quickly. Essential items such as lights, ovens, doorknobs and hot water will not work.
The committee is currently taking on the additional work, however we will not be able to fully cover the Maintenance Manager position.
A work party was advertised for the weekend of the 18th of February, however no members volunteered to attend. As a result the proposed grass cutting was not carried out and there is a potential fire hazard. We have been directed by Parks to rectify this ASAP, and efforts to find a gardener to cut the grass have been unsuccessful, with the three firms contacted all advising that they are too busy.
The following urgent call is made to all members; please contact Peter Rodda ASAP if you can:
- Round up a few of your ski buddies and cut the grass as a work party chore in the next two weeks
- Lead a work party, which will including purchasing materials as required
- Fill the Maintenance Manager role
The following dated are proposed for work parties:
- 18/19 March – Peter Rodda will lead with the objective of determining what maintenance needs to be done urgently. If materials are available whatever maintenance can be carried out will be done. Volunteers are requested.
- 25/26 March– Vanessa Palmer will lead with the objective of tree planting (provided by Parks), stack fire wood (if it has been delivered in time), ground maintenance and other general maintenance
- 11/12 April – This is a Tuesday/Wednesday, however a group of members are staying over the Easter and will conduct a work party. Daniel Kochanowicz will lead. There are vacant rooms so if you are available please volunteer.
- 13/14 May – TBA
- 3/4 June – TBA, pre ski season
Please also take note of opening dates for booking rounds (detailed on the website here).
